i'm so into minted!!!!

ok....so sometimes it's the simple things in life that get me really excited! i think i've mentioned before that i am in love with most things paper. i absolutely love walking into paper stores and browsing! i love looking at all the new and creative designs! so i was super excited when i read that one of my favorite stationary websites - minted. was partnering with the design-savvy project nursery blog to find three real-life pregnant women who are looking to solve their shower invitation dilemma. they chose me as one of the real-life mom's-to-be to help them with this desing challenge. i am soooo ecstatic! first of all, i never "win" anything. i mean seriously peeps - nothing!!! and not to mention this will be super fun to do and once the top designs are chosen i'll get to choose my favorite design and get some free baby shower invites as well as a credit to minted. for my baby announcements! they have some of the coolest baby announcements ever!!! i can't wait!
so here's what i'm going to need from you guys.

lens for sale....

wow! over the last few evenings i have been spending time cleaning up my office! right now, it's a disaster! but soon there will be a calm to this storm! in the mean time, i wanted to put this lens up for sale. i purchased this lens about a year and a half ago, and i haven't ever really used it very much. it's got a great depth of field! do some research on the lens, but i'm sure you'll love it!

so much to do....so little time!!!!

hey guys!

wow.....do you ever have to-do lists soooo long that all you can do is sit and stare at them because it completely overwhelms you? welp, that's where i'm at! sheeeshhh!!! i have so many goals for (ah) this year! not to mention the lists of goals for my real job and all those personal goals too!

one of my goals for (ah) is to attend a workshop this year. which, i am proud to say i can cross that off my list. i signed up for amy wenzel's workshop in grand rapids, michigan and i'm soooo excited!!!

i'll be spending 3 days with this chick

and some other super cool photog's learning how to be even better!!!! can't wait!



so on to the rest of my to do list.....



maybe i'll start one of the items this week. like...oh let's say, my favorite pics from 2008?!?! which i probably should have posted in january. but hey, give me some slack peeps!

a ton has been going on around here. i can't wait to tell you about it in a few weeks!!!!
i'll be able to cross off one of my personal goals (it was kind of a joke at the beginning of the year) but it still happened! yippeeee!!!!

so my friend stephanie tagged me to share 7 random things about myself.

and to go with the random theme....i posted a picture of some of my girlfriends from a halloween party drinking delicious caramel apple martini's. posts are boring without pics!

here goes nothin'......

1. i never wear socks. unless i'm wearing boots or something. it's that time of year where my feet are starting to get cold. but i'm sure i'll still wear all my flats without socks.

2. my refriderator reflection makes me look super skinny. which is not a good combo. super skinny reflection - huh....why not eat more ice cream?

3. i have a thing for polka-dots. it's like a magnetic pull whenever i'm in the store. i don't even have to look for them, they come to me

4. my legs get really itchy when i get out of the shower, and it's super annoying. nothing stops the itching - no rash or anything, just itchy. maybe it's dry skin. who knows! i put on lotion every day!

5. i make list after list after list. sometimes it gets a little overwhelming. i find them all over the place. my purse, my planner. my desk. my kitchen counter. books. bedside stand. i mean....seriously!

6. i have a ridiculous love for target. seriously...they should hire me. i'm like a walking target ad.

7. i'm always thinking at least 10 steps ahead. at breakfast, i ask my husband what he wants for dinner. it's so annoying to him, he feels like it rushes the day or something. even when i'm driving, if i know i'm going to have to turn in 2 or 3 miles i get over in that lane. and then usually i go back to the left lane to pass someone. and then get over again.

that was fun!

last call...and a little secret....

want me to tell you a secret?

i was on my way home from work friday afternoon. it was cold. there was that crisp cold nip in the air. something put me in the christmas spirit. so at dinner i told my husband and cousin that we had two options for our friday night...."go christmas shopping, or get in our christmas pj's, turn on the christmas music, and start putting up the christmas decorations."

i know! i'm crazy!

i wasn't surprised when erin my cousin chose decorating, but surprisingly my husband even chose that too. i guess i shouldn't have been so surprised, he hates shopping. and i think secretly he was hoping he'd get to just watch a movie or something while we put up our "tacky" tree.

but he didn't get away with it.

what's a tacky tree you ask? well....we just basically put anything we could think of on the tree. white lights and colored lights - not around the tree, but up, down and around. and mismatched ornaments. and random different candy canes. and a lame red bird perched on the top. and or course, you can't forget the tinsel. gobs of it! it was like a tinsel throwing party! we had 4 boxes of it. i think it was like 4000 strands of tinsel or something ridiculous like that! it was so fun!

we are going to put a real christmas tree in our family room after t-giving. i don't think they're even selling real ones anywhere yet.

and really....i'm only 2 weeks early. we always put up the decs the day after t-giving!

and we're going to be out of town the whole week of t-giving. so i really only consider myself to be a week early!

i'm sorry to those of you who are strictly against this early christmas decorating. i know you peeps are out there. but i just couldn't resist! i love christmas so much. and i'm not discrediting t-giving, because i love that too!

santa claus is coming to town.
he's makin' a list, he's checkin' it twice, he's gonna find out who's naughty or nice.

yup...that's right. i saw santa the other day. he was pulling into the post office parking lot in his red expedition (shown behind him) as i was leaving. i just couldn't contain myself. my husband said, "aud, i think that's santa!" and sure enough, he stepped out of his car, completely dressed in red, and his shirt proved it. we had to roll down the window and ask him if we could take a pic. sorry the pic isn't very good - it was taken with my husband's phone. but hey, it's better than nothing! santa asked us if we lived in town. we said yes.
he gave us his business card and told us to come see him! i think i am going to send him my christmas wish list! for those of you who would also like to send him your wish list please send it to:

what that heck does that mean?
yup...that's what i was wondering too when i saw it.
apparently it's national blog posting month.
that means you have to post every day for a month. this month. november.
so why not add that to my ridiculous list of things to do?
because i'm crazy, and it sounds fun and i like to set myself up for failure.
let's see how i do.
it doesn't count that i missed a few days already. because today is the 4th and i didn't know it started until today - so i get a little break!

i am so excited about the new (ah) inspire guides!

so often i get clients telling me that they love their pictures but aren't quite sure how to display them in their homes. well....now i have a solution, and i'm super excited about it!

each (ah) client will be reciving one of these gift bags at their (ah) session! this bag is chocked full of goodies and ideas to inspire you to use your (ah) portraits as art to display in your homes!

the thing i love most about these wall displays is the flexibility in them! often times i get nervous to get my favorite pictures blown up really big, because i'm afraid i won't appreciate it as much when i get older. the best part about these wall displays is that they can change with you. you purchase the frames and then after every (ah) session you can refill the frames with your most recent family pictures! how cool is that? of course i love that because you know me....i can't make decisions! so this is perfect. not too big of a commitment!

so proud....

i would just like to take a quick second to say how proud i am of my husband.

earlier this year he started an accouting firm that primarily focuses on churches and non-profits. his mission is to enable pastors and church leaders to focus on their key strategies by providing them with practical solutions. basically, working for a church himself for a year he realized all that pastors get bogged down with. he realized that they wear so many different hats in their organizations and as a result it sometimes prevents them from leading their churches the way pastors should. the way their passions would really like to lead. to focus on their teaching, and pastoring of people - instead of the everyday administrative stuff that they so often end up focusing on instead.

so he jumped out of the boat. trusted god where he was leading and lept. it's been fun! it's been tiring. it's been a lot of work. but most importantly it's been so rewarding. rewarding to watch my husband do a job that he absolutely loves. to watch my husband work with pastors and church leaders. and to know the affect that ps20 is having on these organizations.

anyway....i could go on and on.

but all of this to say that he will be exhibiting and attending his first conference. catalyst. we are super excited. today he goes to the gwinnett arena to set up.

if you think about it say a little prayer for ps20. pray that my husband would continue to follow god's calling with this organization. that he would continue to be led. and that god would continue to give him wisdom as he partners along side with these churches and non-profits.

we are so excited!

i was sooooo super excited when i got this in the mail. literally...like a 2 year old on christmas morning who gets a brand new little doll and can't wait to get her out of the box but there is all those stupid twistie tie things around. i'm sure you can just imagine me jumping around all excited as my husband tries to undo the box!

i am so happy with the way it turned out!
i think this is such a great way to capture your special memories to display in your home. this canvas is a 24x36 - it's big - and it rocks! i love that it's so big you can't just walk by it. you have to stop and look at it. it brings you into the moments that your family shares together every day!

it's the 1st.
and i've told you a few times that the {ah} pricing will be changing on the 1st of october.

changing prices is no fun! especially when the prices increase - but in this case it does bring some fun and excitement. my prices have increased a little bit so that i can offer you, my clients, some really awesome products! i am sooo excited about the new packages that {ah} is offering! each package has a unique item making them unique to my {ah} clients.

i will no longer be offering the high resolution digital negative in my packages - more on that in a later post. however, it will still be available on an a-la-carte basis.
the 5x5 session favorites album is awesome!!! it is a top of the line album with up to 40 of your most favorite images from your {ah} session. each page has a unique art border around each picture. it's so clean and so nice! i am sooo excited to start placing the orders for these!

the signature session box is also pretty neat! this item has such a great value. this item has been created with the intention of replacing the high resolution digital negative. with the signature session box you will receive all your 4x6 prints from your session in a chocolate brown 4x6 signature box. personally - as a consumer, i would appreciate this product much more than the high resolution digital negative because you actually receive prints, rather than a cd for a certain price that you have to take to an unmentioned (poor quality) printing lab to pay for your prints.

and last, but certainly not least the deliciously fresh coffee table book. this book wraps up your {ah} session into a....well....deliciously fresh layout. each page displays a layout of your favorite images. it's sheer eye candy. and you and your loved ones will enjoy it for the rest of time!
