fighter

i love photography so much and i especially love it when i get to capture something that has meaning. a couple posts ago i told you about my experience watching some service men come home and meet their families for the first time in a long time, some over a year.
well...this time i want to share with you one other session that really touched my life during 2007. i went to this session in the fall with the main purpose of capturing this sweet little girl! but i just couldn't resist capturing this sweet lil boy as well! as soon as i walked through the door of his house, i could tell he was special. and i could tell he was tough! his mom shared with me that he had just gotten done fighting leukemia! i don't think he's completely in the clear yet, but you can tell this little boy is a fighter. not to mention he had a broken arm - he was playing around too hard i guess! he had the sweetest spirit. and i loved capturing every second of him and his adorable little sister. good luck little guy! keep on fighting, and lovin' on your sister!

meet my friend *C*

a friend of mine wanted some pics of herself. something other than the random snapshots that she gets while out at some 80's party. you never know what kind of 80's get-up she'll be wearing at those things! she's a fun girl. and we had a fun couple hours shootin her! *C* i think you're ready for your modeling debut. seriously...she's beautiful....isn't she?

and i think you've got the serious face down pat now! consider yourself a pro!

i just came across these pictures from this past summer. i have a friend whose husband is in the service. he spent some time over in iraq right after they got married. i was lucky enough to be able to witness his homecoming! it was a really hot saturday afternoon...and i just remember being so touched by all of the families whose loved ones were over serving to protect us! i remember seeing the little kids holding signs and watching their excitement as they saw their daddy's helicopter flying in, and seeing the anticipation in jamie's face as she watched her husband step out of the helicopter, and then watching her sprint to greet him with a really tight sweet hug! it was such an awesome moment. i'm so glad i was able to share it with all of them. here are a few pictures from that day.

a gap ad

last weekend i met this family in daytona beach to snap a few pictures. we had such a blast!!! they might be the coolest family ever. i've always felt a little bit sad for the dad - having 4 daughters and all - but after this shoot i don't feel bad for him at all. he's one of the luckiest dads ever. 4 great daughters and a beautiful family! we better all start praying for him now...he's gonna have his hands full in a couple of years! i hope you enjoy these as much as i have. here's a few favorites from the session.

can't decide which i like better - black & white or color?

this was so fun! we sat here on the side of this building for like 20 minutes trying to chew the gum to get the right consistency. not to mention we got a couple different types of gum - just to make sure we could get some good bubbles. we wish we could've gotten them bigger - but let me tell ya how hard it is to get 6 people to blow a bubble at the same time! i mean...seriously!

faves of '07 *round 3*

kids....ya just gotta love em!

they are so much fun! they bring more sunshine and energy to all of us! i've had so much fun capturing so many kids this year. here's a peak at just a few of them!

just got back from the atl. and i'm exhausted! glad to be back with my hubs tonight. lots to do this weekend! i had a great session last weekend in daytona. whith such a fun family. i'll tell you more about them once i'm done editing their pics.

love shoots

this was a great evening! this couple had just gotten engaged, so they called me to do some engagement shots for them. they are such a cute couple and so fun in front of the camera! he proposed to her after a long walk in the woods right near the beach, followed by a sweet little picnic under the tree (picture below). it was probably the coolest spot i have ever seen on the beach. good job alex!

this was a fun day too! i might be a tad bit biased toward this couple, probably because it's my brother and his wife and i happen to like them a little bit. but none the less, i thought these pictures turned out great. one of my favorite sessions from 2007.
